The Morning Benders set to put The Big Chill on Toronto

17 July 2010

So far this summer Torontonians have endured the G20, earth tremors, power outages, high heat and humidity, the Blue Jays, the Argos and the loss of CB4.

In order to stem the tide, we’re pleased to announce that The Morning Benders will be performing a free acoustic set on August 4th at 5:30pm at The Big Chill on the corner of Manning and College Street, just a few doors east of pre-eminent idie retailer Soundscapes.

Rumour has it that our friends at The Big Chill will be giving out ice cream to those who brave the August heat.

The Morning Benders return to Toronto on August 3rd in support of The Black Keys. They will also be performing at Osheaga on August 1st.

10 July 2010

The Beggars Canada music elf has been scouring the inter-webs to find you the best price on /\/\ /\ Y /\, in stores on Tuesday.

Although we don’t generally like sending music lovers to Best Buy, according to their flyer published yesterday, you can pick up a copy of the regular version of /\/\ /\ Y /\ on Tuesday ONLY for the low price of $9.99. Click on this LINK to order.

If you’re looking for a digital download of the deluxe package, our friends at iTunes have the files ready for pre-order HERE.

And if you’re like me and still live in the physical work of CDs and LPs, support your local indie store and pick up a copy there. You may even be able to find a copy out on the shelves today! Some of my favorites indies across the country are Zulu and Red Cat in Vancouver. Ditch in Victoria. Blackbyrd and Listen in Edmonton. Sloth in Calgary. Atom Heart in Montreal and Soundscapes, Rotate This and Criminal in Toronto.
