Vampire Weekend Holiday 7" Instores Aug. 31st
Holiday is the brand new single release from Vampire Weekend, taken from their #1 North American SoundScan album, Contra.
Available on Limited Edition US import 7” vinyl, the title track is b/w Ottoman, taken from the Nick & Nora’s Infinite Playlist soundtrack.
Beginning Aug. 27th, Vampire Weekend will embark on a North America wide tour, seeing them play the biggest venues of their young career.
Starting in Vancouver with two sold out shows at The Malkin Bowl (August 27 / 28), they will continue down the US west coast and make their way east for a show at Toronto’s Molson Canadian Ampitheatre Sept. 7th and Montréal’s Metropolis on Sept. 8th.
Also included on the latest trek are 3 sold out shows at New York’s Radio City Hall.
Beach House and Dum Dum Girls will open all shows with the exception of Montréal, where Dum Dum Girls get all the glory.
A video for Holiday is available now. In this clip the band drive around So Cal dressed as 18th century baroque noblemen, partying poolside, eating In-N-Out burgers, and beating up surfers, in perfect VW style.
MTV says “(The Holiday video is) the kind of whip-smart pop that’s in short supply these days — a cranky and clever tweaking of hideous Americans abroad, and equally hideous Americans at home.”
Coming Sept .7th will be the digital sinle release of ‘Giving up The Gun’ available through iTunes and www.thinkindie.com. Featured will be the album version plus an extended remix done by XL Recordings
boss, Richard Russell.
